This PDF is for those animals who need support for respiratory function during poor air quality conditions. Examples may include: smoky air from wild fires or smog conditions from pollution.

This PDF is NOT to be used in place of proper veterinary care. If an animal in your care is having trouble breathing be SURE to seek care immediately. You can always use these points AFTER the animal has received attention from the vet.

Do not use these points with an animal who is not receptive. If an animal in your care is traumatized by a fire event or a crisis and is resisting this point protocol, address that first! Approaches like the relaxation points in our E.A.Sy. Acupressure hand out are a good place to start. You can also work with products like Rescue Remedy from the Bach Flower line.

Don’t feel you have to use ALL of these points. Feel free to pick and choose to find the point or points your animal prefers.

If your animal has chronic respiratory issues these points are generally safe and non-invasive but they are not intended to replace CUSTOMIZED care protocols. These are STARTING POINTS – the acupressure equivalent of a general approach like taking aspirin for a headache, not a PERSONALIZED point protocol delivered by a professional and tailored for your animal’s long term care. They are helpful and effective, but intended for an acute incidence of poor air quality – not for addressing chronic ailments in the respiratory system. For chronic care they wouldn’t be harmful, but you might get better results from professional care.
