This point is known for being very helpful with all animals and any type of shoulder issue from arthritis, dysplasia, or inflammation to an acute injury. 

While the point may be tender and reactive on animals with shoulder issues, with soft contact (not firm pressure) you can activate the point nicely while encouraging recovery. You can even just hold your palm on or over the point and it can work just as well.
