Watching his mom, EA co-founder Susan Tenney, use her first teishin, a pretty but fragile jewelry-like tool made of delicate silver, Jacob Cohn envisioned how powerful the teishin and enshin could be if they were optimized for the rugged needs of animal professionals and caregivers. The idea for the Elemental Accessories™ line was born!
As a lifelong jewelry maker, metalworker, and tool collector and restorer, Jacob has the exact skill set needed to design the perfect animal bodyworker tool. Jacob designed the Elemental Accessories™ so that every detail meets what is TRULY needed in the animal care field.

Why the Elemental Accessories™ are Different
Jacob’s first priority was making a practical, functional, and durable tool. Yet as an artist, he wanted them to be as beautiful as they were functional.
Drawing from his expertise in creative product design as well as a lifelong practice in jewelry making, he integrated elements of beauty and artistry—without sacrificing functionality.

Inspired by Nature and the Five Elements
Jacob developed five distinct tool designs using five different metals. Each Elemental Accessory™ reflects the energetic quality of nature and the Five Elements (described as shown from top to bottom).
The Sunshine Teishin™ (1: far left) is made of lead-free brass.
Balanced for beginners AND advanced users, this perfectly weighted all ‘rounder teishin feels at home in your hand. It almost glows with a gentle, stable feel, acting as a natural extension of your touch. A reassuring and sturdy addition to your animal care toolkit. Slide the spade end gently over a meridian pathway or fascia then rest the soft pointed end on an acupoint or tense muscle.
The Unicorn Enshin™ (2: middle left) is made of hardened bronze.
The Unicorn Enshin™, like the unicorn horn it is named after, is gently pointed at one end and softly rounded at the broader end giving you two options for use. Lightly stroke the broad end along a muscle or meridian, then hold the focused end at an acupoint. No pressing into the point is needed, the natural weight of this heavier tool does the work for you by sinking softly into the animal’s surface with gravity – especially when you use it on a horizontal surface like a horse’s back or hind quarters or on the side of a small animal lying down. While some animals prefer the feather light touch, this tool is preferred by animals who like slow gentle pressure.
The Midnight Teishin™ (3: middle) is made from hypoallergenic stainless steel.
This tool is designed for the more sensitive EnergyWorker™ who will love the quiet, subtle energy this teishin activates. The hypoallergenic stainless steel — the same material used for medical instruments — has been polished and blued so that it has an almost magical looking iridescent finish. The special wave shaped end allows a unique effect that practitioners will love — use the broad side of the wave for stroking along a meridian, fascia, or tense muscle or use the side of the wave end like a gua sha tool. Meanwhile the softly pointed end is perfect for point work.
The Moonglow Enshin™ (4: middle right) is made of aerospace-grade aluminum.
While its thicker design provides a solid feel to the hand, the Moonglow Enshin™ is notable for being extremely light weight. This gives it a nimble, precise feel for agile point work with either the softly pointed end or the gentle rounded end.
The Sparkle Enshin™ (5: far right) is made of copper.
The sturdy enshin shape is activated by the playful spiral design along its body. This tool is warm and inviting to hold while the quiet spiral activates the user’s qi. Both ends work beautifully on points or tracing over the body. Use the hole at one end to hang it on a lanyard or chain for extra security.
Which Elemental Accessory™ should YOU choose?
There is no “right” or “wrong” tool.
Your preference will suit your own way of working and playing with them. We suggest that you choose the tool or tools that call to you.
You’ll also find that while YOU may prefer one Elemental Accessory™, recipients (animals or humans) may have their own preferences!
That’s why we love having more than one tool (or the whole line!) so we can let the recipient choose their preference. Many animals are quick to nudge the tool they want you to use!
That means anyone can use any Elemental Accessory™ with any animal (as long as they’re receptive).

We use them often for maintenance point work while watching a movie, or for acute point work when a family member needs support. The results have been impressive – providing astoundingly fast pain relief, even for long-standing issues.
